The Jira Life Down Under: Atlassian Pricing Changes

Two changes, ten weeks apart. Everyone’s read the announcements. Almost nobody has run the numbers.

From 13 October 2026, list prices go up across nearly the whole Atlassian Cloud portfolio. From 3 December 2026, usage above your included allowances gets billed across Rovo, automation, Assets, AI resolutions and Bitbucket.

The second one is the bigger deal and it’s getting a fraction of the attention. Extra usage is on by default. Unlimited automation on Enterprise is gone. And on Atlassian’s own calculator, a 100-user Jira Premium organisation with routine Rovo adoption is looking at roughly US$430 to US$1,930 a month in overage.

That’s the sort of number we’ll be putting on screen. Brett is bringing worked examples from real environments, not a spreadsheet, just enough maths to show what these changes do to an actual bill and which of them are worth losing sleep over.
