Elegance Group hosted an exciting series of events in Melbourne and Sydney in October 2024, aimed at showcasing the transformative potential of Jira Service Management (JSM) beyond its traditional IT roots. Titled JSM Unleashed, this series gathered industry leaders, solution architects from Atlassian, and customers across sectors to share some of the most intricate business challenges we’ve solved with JSM.
Jira Service Management: A Versatile Business Solution
Our goal was simple: to illustrate that JSM is far more than an IT service desk. By diving into real-world customer stories, we showed how JSM can manage everything from legal contracts to client onboarding, inventory, and more. With this platform, we help companies like Pepperstone and ASL transform operations, streamline workflows and unlock efficiencies in areas beyond IT.
Melbourne Event Highlights
The Melbourne event kicked off with a warm welcome and an engaging agenda led by our founder, Brett Celliers and Elegance Group CEO, Kirsty Davies. We had the pleasure of hearing Erin Burke, Pepperstone’s Global Head of Procurement and Support, share her success story with JSM.
Pepperstone: Centralising Operations and Optimising Workflows
Pepperstone, a global player in financial trading, faced a classic business challenge: siloed workflows, manual contract management and fragmented website approval processes. Its team had been handling contract lifecycle management manually, leading to inefficiencies and lost time. Using JSM, we mapped out an automated lifecycle, routing approvals and reducing bottlenecks. The result? A seamless contract management process that saves time and enhances accuracy.
Another area where Pepperstone benefitted was website change management. With multiple regional sites requiring regular updates, the manual approval process was cumbersome. By automating these approvals through JSM, the team has significantly reduced delays and eliminated manual intervention, allowing Pepperstone to maintain compliance with various regional regulations effortlessly.
KiwiRail: Enterprise Service Management in Action
Brett Celliers shared an inspiring success story from KiwiRail, a New Zealand-based enterprise. KiwiRail adopted JSM as a replacement for ServiceNow to manage a range of workflows across departments, including IT, freight, and HR. This move enabled KiwiRail to integrate AI-powered automation and streamline processes for everything from mobile device orders to workshop inventory management. The outcome has been transformative: KiwiRail reduced inefficiencies, increased team productivity, and automated thousands of tasks each month.
Sydney Event Highlights
The Sydney event followed a similar format, featuring insights from both Atlassian experts and industry leaders. Hossien Dakkak, Head of Infrastructure & Security at Australian Settlements Limited (ASL), provided a compelling look at how ASL uses JSM to revolutionise client onboarding and incident management.
ASL: Streamlined Onboarding and Proactive Incident Management
ASL, a financial services provider, relied on manual processes like PDFs and spreadsheets to manage client information and onboarding—a labour-intensive approach prone to delays. With JSM, ASL transformed onboarding into a fully automated process. Now, client data flows smoothly from initial intake to task distribution across internal teams, dramatically improving ASL’s capacity to handle complex client onboarding scenarios.
For incident management, ASL implemented a system with proactive SMS alerts for critical incidents, ensuring rapid response times. This level of automation has enhanced ASL’s ability to handle escalations efficiently, minimising downtime and safeguarding client experience.
Atlassian’s JSM Assets Data Manager: Transforming Asset Management
Both events featured a special session from Atlassian’s JSM experts, Aradhana Arora and Mark Edwards, who showcased the JSM Assets Data Manager. This powerful tool provides visibility into diverse data sources, enabling companies to compare, cleanse, and manage critical information across departments. Data Manager empowers businesses to address data quality issues, manage assets, and support decisions with clean, consistent data and all from within JSM.
