The Opportunity
Outdated Server Instances and Expired Maintenance
Kordia was facing the challenge of its server instances of Atlassian Products (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence) reaching end-of-life, with an already expired maintenance solution.
In-House Migration and Partner Approach
After initial exploration, testing and resolving immediate issues of an in-house migration, Kordia decided to approach an Atlassian partner to take on further technical analysis and finalize the technical outputs to ensure the successful migration from server to Cloud, with an additional set up SSO (single sign on) from LDAP (lightweight directory access protocol).
The Solution
Taking a strategic approach
Elegance Group took on the heavy lifting, devising a bespoke change plan to reduce the risk of data loss, workforce interruptions, and unforeseen complexities. With careful change and release management, deliberate coordination of end-user communications, a complex migration was into a simplified set of activities for Kordia to carry out in partnership with the team from Elegance Group.
The Impact
Empowering Kordia
During the migration, Elegance Group provided expertise and guidance to empower and encourage Kordia staff to work alongside it. This meant the team at Kordia developed it’s understanding about the Atlassian product suite and increased its confidence in the process and ownership of its tooling platform.
Additional Wins and ROI
- Significant savings in licensing costs
- Optimization and rationalization of user accounts in the new Atlassian Cloud site
- Increased security through adoption of SAML SSO
